2026 “China Life Kids Art” Drawing Competition Submission – Green City Future Earth

China Life (Overseas) warmly invites children and teenagers to participate in the 2026 “China Life Kids Art” Drawing Competition. Pick up your paintbrushes to capture environmental friendly actions that protect our planet, envision sustainable green cities filled with creativity and color, and imagine a future Earth powered by innovative technology. This event is proudly sponsored by the Octone Foundation, co-organized by the Hong Kong Education Workers Association, with Headline Daily and Sing Tao Daily as official media partners.

Octone Foundation has long dedicated itself to children’s art cultivation and environmental public welfare. It firmly believes art is the best medium for children to express their environmental aspirations and build sustainable mindsets. Through painting creation, children can observe daily green practices around them and envision a beautiful future world, nurturing their awareness to cherish nature and safeguard the planet from an early age.

2026 "China Life Little Painter" Painting Competition is open to all children and teenagers aged 3–16 with free entry. Attractive prizes including eco-experience vouchers, book coupons and trophies are available. Parents, schools and art institutions are welcome to bring children to participate, and craft a green vision for the next generation with colours.

 

I. Competition Information

1. Eligibility The competition is open to participants aged 3–16, divided into three categories:

  • Toddler Group: 3–5 years old
  • Children Group: 6–11 years old
  • Youth Group: 12–16 years old

Schools and art institutions may also submit group entries, categorized as:

  • Kindergarten Group
  • Primary School Group
  • Secondary School Group
  • Institution Group

 

2. Artwork Themes (Entrants can select one of the following two themes to create entry)

Theme 1: Green City

A green city is not a distant fantasy - it is hidden in our daily lives. Saving a drop of water, sorting waste correctly, using a resuable bag - these are all the ways of planting green seeds in the city. Take up your paintbrush and capture the green moments of your life, turning an ordinary day into a magical journey of protecting the Earth.

Theme 2: Future Earth

If you could take a time machine and travel to the future Earth, what would you see? Perhaps the sky shines like a blue jewel, the rivers crystal clear; the outer walls of buildings would be covered with flowers and plants, and all the energy would come from the wind and the sun. Let the imagination land on paper and draw a clean, beautiful, and vibrant future Earth.

3. Artwork Specifications & Creation Rules

  1. Size　：A3 or A4 paper size, less than 42cm x 29.7cm
  2. Format： Flat
  3. Forms: Entrants can use any paint or method to draw original drawings to participate in this activity; examples include but not limited to oil painting, acrylic painting, sketching, collage, hard pen, printmaking, etc. Digital paintings are acceptable (excluding AI assistance), however, digitally processed photos are not accepted.  Entrants are requested to keep the original works for future usage (if applicable)
  4. Weight: No more than 2 kilograms (kg)
  5. Uploaded Image Requirements: Clear, complete photos without extra white borders, proper exposure; format JPG/PNG, resolution ≥300dpi, file size ≤5MB.

4. Key Event Timeline

  • Artwork Submission Period: July 2026 – 30 November 2026 
  • Judging Phase: December 2026
  • Award Ceremony: January 2027. Winning works will be displayed on the official website and outdoor public media.

  1. Gold Award (3 winners per group)
    • Children / Youth Group: trophy + 4 Maipo Nature Tour vouchers (HK$1,000 value). Activities include birdwatching at hides, boardwalk access to wetland habitats, and round-trip shuttle buses from Yuen Long MTR Station.

  1. Silver Award (7 winners per group)
    • Children / Youth Group: Trophy + 2 Hoi Ha Wan Coral Exploration vouchers (HK$720 value). Includes an introduction to Hong Kong marine ecology and Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park, glass-bottom boat coral viewing, and round-trip shuttle buses from Sai Kung.

  1. Bronze Award (10 winners per group)
    • Children / Youth Group: Trophy + 2 Yuan Chau Tsai Heritage Garden & Kokedama Workshop vouchers (HK$400 value). Includes guided tours of the century-old colonial residence, British botanical garden with 140 local and horticultural plant species, and full materials & tool borrowing for kokedama creation.

All participants receive an electronic Certificate of Recognition upon passing preliminary screening.

Group Awards (For Schools, Art Institutions & Tutors)

  1. Professional Achievement Award (10 winners): Trophy + HK$1,000 book coupon. For institutions with at least 10 preliminarily screened entries and the highest total submissions.
  2. Outstanding Tutor Award (5 winners): Trophy + HK$1,000 book coupon. For tutors with at least 3 preliminarily screened entries and the most student works guided.
  3. Schools and institutions will receive an electronic Thank You Letter after submitting entries.

 

III. Full Registration Procedures (Free Entry)

Registration is completely free of charge. Entries may be submitted by participants themselves, parents, guardians or tutors aged 18 or above.

 

Individual Registration Process

  1. Enter the official website and select "Individual Registration"
  2. Fill in details of the registrant and participant
  3. Upload clear photos of artwork, provide artwork title and creative concept
  4. Submit the form; registration is confirmed upon receipt of confirmation email
  5. Await preliminary screening results, which will be notified via email

 

Group Registration Process (Schools / Institutions)

  1. Select "Group Registration" on the official website, fill in institution and tutor-in-charge information
  2. Add each participating student one by one and upload individual artwork
  3. Save all entries and submit in bulk once complete
  4. Receive confirmation email and await preliminary screening notifications

 

Important Entry Reminders

  1. Each child may submit only ONE artwork; no replacements allowed after submission.
  2. All information provided must be truthful and accurate. Winner names will be printed exactly as registered and cannot be modified afterwards.
  3. Participants must keep physical original artworks safely; the organiser will not return physical submissions.
