Stay Connected: Supplying the Globe
Tai Kwun Contemporary presents Stay Connected: Supplying the Globe, the second chapter of Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008. More than 70 artworks from over 40 participating artists re-examine China’s role as the world’s centre for the production and logistics that sustain modern life. They give insights into the individual stories, family histories, and lesser-seen places impacted by globalisation and by China’s unprecedented economic growth in recent decades.
𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥: 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘦
How do global systems of production and circulation shape individuals’ lives? What is gained and lost in economic transformation? The exhibition 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥: 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘦 features more than 40 participating artists who employ diverse creative and research methodologies to document globalisation’s effects on environments, workplaces, communities and personal histories. Building an emotional trajectory from the observable environment to moments of profound human connection, the exhibition makes visible the unseen threads linking people, ideas and work, while inviting audiences to contemplate how we are connected through shared experiences and futures.
Thresholds of Becoming
esea contemporary marks its 40th anniversary in 2026 with 'Thresholds of Becoming', a new group exhibition bringing together six artists whose practices probe the architectures of transition and the fragile ecologies of the in-between: Nicole Coson, Xin Liu, Charmaine Poh, Minoru Nomata, Yang Yongliang, and Yin Aiwen. The exhibition has received generous support from Octone Art Foundation.

Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 Book Launch
Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 is a bilingual (Chinese–English) book jointly published by Tai Kwun Contemporary and Asia Art Archive. It explores the trajectory of Chinese art after the 2008 Beijing Olympics through key concepts, focusing on how social transformations reshaped artistic practices, and how artists responded to China’s role in global shifts. The project received research support from the De Ying Foundation and production support from He Fan, Octone Foundation.
Annual Artist’s Lecture: Zhang Xiaogang
Asia Art Archive is honoured to host Zhang Xiaogang as the distinguished speaker for AAA’s Annual Artist’s Lecture on 26th March 2026, 11am-12:30pm. Supported by Octone Foundation, this event will reflect on Zhang’s archive and its relationship with his personal history.

The Great Camouflage: 2nd Specialist Guided Tour
Rockbund Art Museum (RAM) is delighted to present the 2nd Specialist Guided Tour of the group exhibition "The Great Camouflage" on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 17:00 to 19:00. Supported by the Octone Foundation and co-organized with the China-Africa Shanghai International Network (CASIN), this event features three distinguished speakers: Dr. Zhang Lifang (Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Tsinghua University), South African poet and writer Lethokuhle Msimang, and musician/composer Wen Liang. The tour will take place on the 1st to 4th floors of RAM, located at 20 Huqiu Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, with simultaneous interpretation between English and Chinese.

Rockbund Art Museum (RAM) is proud to present the specialist guided tour series for "The Great Camouflage". The first session will kick off on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 19:00 to 20:30 across the 1st to 5th floors of the museum. Supported by the Octone Foundation and co-organized with the China-Africa Shanghai International Network (CASIN), this series features English presentations with simultaneous Chinese interpretation, offering audiences an immersive experience that combines academic depth with intellectual vitality.

Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008
The panoramic exhibition Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 presents twenty-first century art that addresses changes in social realities in China and their impacts on the world. Framed through the dual lenses of digital technology and the manufacturing supply chain, the two chapters, titled Stay Connected: Navigating the Cloud and the forthcoming Stay Connected: Supplying the Globe , trace a constellation of innovative and alternative artistic practices as well as cultural transformations during this period.
"Stay Connected: Navigating the Cloud" Appreciation Dinner Successfully Held Project Eleven Foundation Collaborates with The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Tai Kwun to Witness the Panorama Exhibition Unveiling
On September 25, a large-scale art exhibition titled "Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 presents twenty-first century art"—the first chapter "Staying Online: Wandering in the Cloud," co-sponsored by the Octone Foundation and the Hong Kong Jockey Club, held a thank-you banquet at Tai Kwun. The event was attended by many distinguished guests, including Mr. Ho Fan, Chairman of the Octone Foundation; Mr. Bernard Chan, Chairman of Tai Kwun Cultural and Arts Company Limited, Grand Bauhinia Medal (GBS), Justice of the Peace (JP); Mr. Tobias Berger, Art Director of Tai Kwun; and exhibition curators Dr. Pi Li and Ms. Guo Ying, who together witnessed this significant art event exploring the cultural evolution in the digital age.
'Open the Box 2025: Bloom of Light'
On July 27th, the Octone Foundation participated in the participatory art project "Unboxing 2025: Bloom of Light," organized by Tai Kwun Contemporary and led by Japanese artist Shinji Ohmaki. The event was successfully held. The Octone Foundation invited 25 children from Po Leung Kuk residential homes to attend as the creative protagonists, transforming life memories into floral patterns through free creation, allowing them to "grow and spread" in the Tai Kwun exhibition hall, embodying the core philosophy of "Creating the Future through Art, Culture Without Boundaries."
China Life (Overseas) Presents: 2025 "Kids Art" Drawing Competition
The "China Life (Overseas) Presents: 2025 "Kids Art" Drawing Competition" in the Hong Kong competition area, hosted by China Life Insurance (Overseas) Co., Ltd. ("China Life (Overseas)") and co-organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Educators, was officially launched on July 1, 2025. This year, new media partners HeadLine Daily and Sing Tao Daily and support organization - Octone Foundation have expanded the influence of the event.
"Hong Kong Youth Bay Area Cultural Walk"
The "Hong Kong Youth Bay Area Cultural Walk" will be held in various cities in the Greater Bay Area for two consecutive days (29-30). 50 Hong Kong youth representatives from various sectors will be invited from Hong Kong to visit a number of national and provincial cultural venues in Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai, such as the National Repertory Theatre Guangzhou Branch, and to have talks and exchanges with young people from the relevant fields in Guangdong.
