Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 is a bilingual (Chinese–English) book jointly published by Tai Kwun Contemporary and Asia Art Archive. It explores the trajectory of Chinese art after the 2008 Beijing Olympics through key concepts, focusing on how social transformations reshaped artistic practices, and how artists responded to China’s role in global shifts. The book emphasizes local and geographical perspectives, deepening academic research in the field and fostering public understanding of China’s art ecology and development.

The new bilingual publication Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008 will be introduced by its co-editors: Dr. Pi Li (co-curator of the exhibition Stay Connected: Art and China Since 2008), Guo Ying (Senior Curator at Tai Kwun and co-curator of the exhibition), and Anthony Yung (Head of Research and Collections at Asia Art Archive).
The book features introductions to representative works by more than 80 artists, alongside essays by leading curators, critics, and scholars active in the field of contemporary Chinese art. At the launch, the three speakers will discuss the book’s research focus, the significance of the concept “Art and China” for institutions such as Tai Kwun and Asia Art Archive, and perspectives from a new generation of artists addressing China’s social realities on the international stage.
