Held on the night of 17 July at Kai Tak, “Community Care Movie Night” was organised by Nanyang Commercial Bank and co-hosted by Octone Foundation. Many grassroots families in Wong Tai Sin District received complimentary screenings of touching feature Dear You.
Jointly delivered by enterprises and charities, the movie night aims to spark greater societal attention to elderly support and cross-generational connections through film.

On the other hand, Octone Foundation leverages its extensive social service network to address the mental and emotional needs of disadvantaged groups with targeted support, ensuring resources reach families most in need.
The event was officiated by representatives from Nanyang Commercial Bank and Octone Foundation. District Councillors of Wong Tai Sin District, Mr Leung Tang Fung, Mr Lee Tung Kong and Mr Fung Kin Lok, also attended to show their support, joining families on-site for this meaningful evening.
The film Dear You is adapted from a true story, depicting the bittersweet daily life between a grandson and his grandmother who was diagnosed with dementia. Its sincere and touching storyline struck a chord with all audience members present.
Some parents who attended the screening with their elderly relatives shared that they are usually swamped with work and rarely get to watch a movie with their mothers. The film made them cherish every moment spent together more deeply. Young students also commented that the interactions between the protagonist and his grandmother reminded them of their departed elders, inspiring them to take more initiative to care for the senior and young family members at home.
