Octone Foundation partnered once again with the AMG Volunteer Group to take Po Leung Kuk out of home care children to Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair.
Octone Foundation sponsored a red packet (lai see) for each child 🧧. Staff from Po Leung Kuk along with volunteers, accompanied the out of home care children on their visit to the Victoria Park Fair.
Throughout the trip, the children and volunteers immersed themselves in the lively atmosphere of the New Year market, experiencing traditional Spring Festival culture and customs. The children explored the market, learning about the various types of goods sold at the stalls, and had the chance to purchase New Year snacks and festive items. The day was filled with laughter, and everyone returned home with great joy.
Starting in 2025, we began collaborating with Po Leung Kuk to design a series of 'Outing with Kids' experiential activities specifically for children living in home care service who lack family care and visits. The core objective of these activities is to give these children opportunities to interact with the outside world, build connections, learn how to integrate into society, and enhance their social skills. More importantly, we hope these activities help these children, who may lack close family care, establish stable emotional connections, boost their self-confidence and sense of security, and create more happy memories for their growth.
Out of respect for the children's privacy, we avoided taking photos that publicly show the children's faces throughout the event.
