On January 7th, the 「青春圓夢 兔氣揚眉」charity carnival, jointly organized by the Octone foundation and Contripassion, and co-organized by the Kowloon Federation of Associations, Ng Fung Hong, and MAD, was grandly held for two consecutive days at The Kowloon Bay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, benefiting over 2,500 youth grassroots families. Leaders from more than 30 charities and business organizations gathered to contribute to promoting social welfare and promoting traditional Chinese culture, to give them an early celebration of a loving New Year carnival.
Mr. Zhu Xiaodong, Deputy Director of the Kowloon Working Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government, Mr. Chan Pak-lai, JP, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Ms. Xu Li, BBS, JP, newly elected member of the National People's Congress and President of the Kowloon Federation of Associations, Ms. Jiang Yuhuan, member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, Mr. Zhang Xinyu, member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council, Mr. He Fan, Chairman of the Shiyi Charity Foundation, and Mr. Sun Lizai, Chairman of Love Contribution, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was jointly officiated by on-site guests and representatives from supporting organizations who lit the fireworks and activated the lighting device, igniting the hopes of the youth for a bright future for Hong Kong.
Mr. He Fan, Chairman of the Shiyi Charity Foundation, expressed in his welcome speech his hopes that the carnival would bring joy to children, help them understand traditional Chinese culture, enhance their cultural confidence, and appreciate the charm of traditional culture. "In the future, whether it's 2023, 2024, or 2025, we will continue to commit every bit of our youth to realize our dreams." Chairman He continued by thanking numerous supportive friends and volunteers for bringing abundant gifts, games, and experiences such as calligraphy to the children. Moreover, in this year's charity carnival, we have added a wishing segment, aiming to listen to the children's wishes.
During his speech, Mr. Chan Pak-lai, JP, Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, extended his best wishes for the New Year and hoped that the carnival would offer warm blessings to multiple underprivileged families. The warmth of love is enduring, and we believe that through the collaboration of various organizations like the Shiyi Charity Foundation and Love Contribution, we can offer love, provide warmth, and benefit the public, illuminating the light of hope.
"Little charity and public welfare gather great love from all directions." The event booths included a VR experience for earthquakes and floods from the Hong Kong Red Cross, a chopstick game from China Resources Five Star, a mini supermarket from Five Star, a latte art class from Pacific Coffee, Chinese calligraphy for couplets, and 20 other booth activities.
